Flying Kitchen recorded KFOG’s Concert for Kid’s at the Paramount Theater in Oakland.
The Pretenders and Amos Lee performed this year and it was a really great show.
I was pleasantly surprised when I ran into my old friend Michael Bellar, who plays keyboards for Amos Lee. I had walked on stage to check a mic connection and saw a familiar face sitting at the keys.
Amos Lee is a really great songwriter in the tradition of Bob Dylan and Paul Simon. If he’s ever in your town, check out his show… He’s got a great keyboard player too.
The Pretenders still rock after 30 years, too.
Super Adventure Club performs Friday, Dec 12 at the Hotel Utah with Belligerator (for their CD release party) and the History Lesson (a minutemen tribute band)
This will be our last show of the year, and our second to last before we head off on our first European Tour. It will also mark the day we finish mixing the record. So please come out and celebrate the many milestones of the twelfth day of the twelfth month. We go on in the middle and the show starts at 9. Check out www.hotelutah.com for more show info.
KFOG’s Live from the Archives Vol 15 came out last week featuring 4 songs that I recorded and mixed with my partner, Boone Spooner
Tracks we worked on
David Gray – You’re the World to Me from Oakland Paramount Theater
Feist – 1 2 3 4 From Bimbo’s 365 in San Francisco
Newton Faulkner – Dream Catch Me from Slim’s in San Francisco
Matt Nathanson – Car Crash at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco
I’d have to say the Feist show was my favorite of the 4.. but Matt Nathanson comes in a close second. They’re also the friendliest folks of the bunch. Anyway, proceeds from the album benefit Bay Area food banks, so click here and get yourself a copy
