Cannons and Clouds featured in “The Bay Bridged”

Cannons and Clouds received some love this week from the Bay Bridged, one of the bigger local music blogs of the Bay Area.

I co-produced, engineered and played on their album, which came out this past August.

You can check them out at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco on Thursday Jan 20.

Graduation Keynote at Pyramind

This past sunday I was honored to be the keynote speaker at Pyramind’s graduation ceremony for the class of 2010. I spoke about the future of the music industry and the importance of community involvement .I also got to meet some very talented graduates and listen to some of the tracks they’ve produced over the past year. Cool stuff.

San Francisco Supervisor Candidates Forum

wpid-object002_2-2010-09-27-15-02.jpg
On Monday, Sep 27, The Recording Academy SF Chapter (of which I’m the President) and the California Music and Culture Association (CMAC) put on the San Francisco Supervisor Candidate Forum, a political discussion focused on issues related to music and nightlife in the city.

The SF Chapter’s advocacy committee put in many hours of hard work along with our friends at CMAC and Barbary Coast Consulting to pull off an event that drew over 200 people to Yoshi’s SF on a monday night.

Bevan Dufty, current district 8 supervisor and mayor hopeful gave an entertaining keynote and we were also fortunate to hear performances from Brad Hughes and Sean Hayes. The event was moderated by Priya David Clemens of KTVU.

I’m proud to have been a sponsor of this first-of-its-kind event and hope to help produce more of these types of events in the future.

Make sure to vote on Nov 2!

On Sunday, July 11, I’ll be playing a rare solo acoustic performance at Yoshi’s San Francisco as part of their Songwriters Unplugged series.

It’s an all ages show. I’ll also be performing with Kate Burkart and Maya Dorn. We’re each going to be doing rotating 20 minute sets.

Here’s a tune I’ll be playing that night, recorded by my studio mate, Michael Romanowski.

Super Adventure Club at the Hotel Utah every Saturday in June 2010

Our February residency at the Hotel Utah was such a smashing success that we’re going to do it again, this coming June.

Beginning June 5, we’ll be bringing you 2 great local bands followed by a rousing Super Adventure Club extravaganza of multi-instrumental tackiness.

The first show begins June 5 with my old friend and former roommate, Gianni Velcreaux opening and DownDownDown. Check out this super sweet video from Gianni…

US World Cup 2010 Team theme song

This week we finish mixing the song “Strike” composed by Nader Deaik which will be the theme song for the United States soccer team at the this year’s World Cup in Johannesburg, South Africa. I recorded and mixed it as well as singing a bit on it along with my old Dayroom compatriot, James Riddle. Hoping the US team can win that thing this year…
